  • Nearly Time to Go

No blog’s for the next couple of days, due to my trip to the north of Scotland (do they have electricity that far north, lol), it ages since I have to that area and despite my little joke I absolutely loved the place, so much so it would be my first choice of place to live if I had the chance. I found the people friendly and the hospitably warm and cordial. I am looking forward to the trip and I know that others will follow in the months ahead.

I am nearly ready to potter off home, I have done as much as I can for the moment, I have collected all the paper work I need, so I need to go home pack a suit case  (another hour or so) and get some sleep before my early morning rise tomorrow, have a good couple of days and I’ll catch you all over the weekend.

  • Go on BBC, do the Right Thing

For the moment Brand and Ross have been suspended, which I suppose is all we expect from the BBC. But if I abused someone like that at work I would expect to be sacked on the spot, seems the BBC doesn’t have the morals like the rest of, or the balls to right thing.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, just sack them!

  • Sack Them All

Should Brand and Ross be sacked for the stunt they played on Andrew Sax, personally I think yes? There is line that should not be crossed and they went beyond that. But not only should they be sacked but the producer who gave the go ahead for this to be aired should also go. Surely these items are screened before they allowed to be transmitted.

Speaking on Tuesday afternoon, BBC audio and music director Tim Davie said it was "too early to speculate" on whether Brand or Ross would face action. "We do offer an unreserved apology to Andrew Sachs and his family," he added. "We do recognise this was an unacceptable broadcast and I am leading an investigation to ascertain the facts."

What’s to investigate the facts are easy to ascertain, they humiliated a 78 year old man on the radio, no excuse, no investigation required, sack them all!

  • Going Back a few Years

Midmorning on a Wednesday and it’s all going great, although I’m still waiting for responses to my email’s (no change there then). I’m just having a cup of Bovril, very nice it is too, just what you need on a morning like this. I bought a packet a couple of weeks ago, mainly because I happen to notice them when walking round the supermarket, you know sometimes you see things and think I haven’t had that for ages and then really fancy some. Well that’s what happened, and I only have one left from the box of 12 I bought. So it’s time for another box, great on winters day, I remember my dad used to take my brother and I swimming on Sunday and we used to have a cup of Bovril when we finished (that’s going back a few years).

  • Exercise

I did mange to get out on bike last, I wasn’t going too, but after having my dinner I decided that staying in would be just plain lazy, so I got wrapped up and ventured out in to the cold evening air for an hours cycling.

I was a little slow and struggled but I did do it, you can’t make excuses and not do it, it just leads down the wrong path, thankfully my knee wasn’t too painful, just a slight twinge and after effects this morning.

  • Snow Out There

It was a quite cold this morning, but I didn’t have to clean the windscreen like I did yesterday morning, but my temperature indicator did get down to zero on the way in. The biggest surprise was that when I got to Harlow, there was snow on the ground, not a lot but certainly a covering on the grass verges.

On one round-about I notice that a car driver was obviously driving too fast for the snowy conditions and didn’t mange to negotiate the round-about as his tyre marks showed he skidded on the centre of it leaving his imprints for all to see.

  • Wednesday

Wednesday, the middle of the working week and my last day in the office this week, tomorrow I am off to Aberdeen for a couple of days, well to be exact I’m off to Fraserburgh and Peterhead, but we are flying to Aberdeen. I’ll be leaving early this afternoon, I need to get home and sort all my stuff out, your flight leaves Luton at 7:00 and I have to leave home at about 4:00 to get there.
