I do like this office it’s not the most luxurious I ever been in but it’s functional, comfortable, quiet and the people are friendly, which I suppose is the ideal office. It’s not sterile like my last office and we can even talk to each other here, unlike the last place which was more like a prison, I can even use my MP3 player, which makes life a lot better when you have a large amount of reading or CAD work to do, you can get lost in your private world, brilliant!

Same Shit Different Job
@ 2008-10-28 – 14:35:25
I’m definitely getting into this new job now, and I have found that people still don’t want to talk to you when you ask them awkward questions, ‘like where are the goods you promised would be delivered last week?’ I have been hanging around waiting for a phone call from one of our suppliers who promised to deliver some services but has not made good on his promise. Same shit different job!

Record Profits
@ 2008-10-28 – 12:55:41
BP has seen its latest quarterly profits more than double, buoyed by record high oil prices. Reporting its results for the three months from July to September, BP's replacement cost profit totalled $10bn (£6.4bn), up 148% from a year earlier.
Oil prices hit an all-time high of $147 a barrel in July, but have since fallen back sharply to about $62 this week. BP said high prices had "obviously helped our absolute result", despite the recent sharp fall.
BP chief executive Tony Hayward said that oil prices could decline further as the world enters a recession. "I believe that BP is well-positioned to cope with such volatility," he said. "We think the current turmoil may in fact create opportunities for us and we will look at those very closely." Shares in the firm were up 2.6% in early Tuesday trading in London.

Drinking and Driving
@ 2008-10-28 – 12:17:25
VIENNA (Reuters) - An Austrian man, charged with drink driving, drove to a police station to complain about the charge whilst drunk, officials said Monday.
The 65-year-old had his driving licence and car keys first taken away from him Sunday after driving while over the alcohol limit in the northern city of Linz.
He then went home, picked up his spare car keys, went back to the abandoned car and drove to police headquarters to explain why he was unhappy with the charge. "When the driver tried to show police officers what had happened the first time, they detected he was still under the influence of alcohol," police said in a statement.
The driver was charged a second time.

Lunch Time, Already?
@ 2008-10-28 – 11:54:07
I spent the morning reading numerous documents once again, and I must say that after rising early this morning I have been struggling to keep my eyes open. So I have just been for a walk around the garden and a cup of coffee for a bit of fresh and to wake me, which seems to have worked for now, anyway.
The morning has gone quite fast actually, I can’t believe its lunch time already, maybe I fell asleep and didn’t realise it, lol. I am hoping to get out on my bike tonight; well I did miss last night. Tuesday and Thursdays’ are normally my nights off, but my knee hurts a little I felt it last night, maybe it’s the after effects of my falls on Sunday, but I’ll make the effort I kind of miss it now when I don’t go out, I’ll just have to take it easy.

Diet - The Weekly Weigh In
@ 2008-10-28 – 07:49:53
I think there was a problem with last week’s weigh in, if you can remember from last week I reported a 2 pound increase from the week before, 15st 1lb to 15st 3lb’s, well this week it appears I have lost seven pounds and am now down to 14st 10lb’s. I can only assume that last week an anomaly, I have never gone up and down so much, my weight loss as been constant through out and averages out at about 2 or 3 pounds a week.
Although it is an anomaly I have still recorded it as was, because I can’t really do anything else. So for the record, I have now been on my diet for 15 weeks, when I started I was 17st 13lbs and now I am 14st 10lbs a total weight loss of 45 pounds (20.5kg) am feeling really good now. Even in this last week I have noticed that, what was my rather large stomach as shrunk even more, but best not celebrate too early I still have over two stone to lose.

Ready For Off
@ 2008-10-28 – 05:57:25
Well, that’s me ready for work, showered, dressed and had a little breakfast I am now all set for the day ahead. Today will be all about procedures to be followed in particular I think I will be on fault reporting, action and repairing from what was said last night just before I left. We all know that when starting out on new job, it takes a couple of weeks to get your feet under the table and a few months before you know about all the procedures to be followed. At least this place is not over burdening me with procedures and health and safety. It as actually thought about it and while time is spent on the company procedures it as also given me projects to look after, doing design work. So it not too boring and as I have said before the project work is very interesting.

Awake
@ 2008-10-28 – 04:48:40
For some reason I seem to have woken up an hour earlier than usual, perhaps it because I still haven’t got used to the clocks being back, or maybe it because Rosemary talking in her sleep (she does that sometimes). But whatever the reason here I am, fully awake and posting this blog and checking my emails. Seems like the best thing to do, rather that tossing and turning in bed, trying to get back to sleep, when I’ll be up in an hour anyway.
I didn’t manage to get out on bike last night, we had friends come round and by the time they left it was too late, it was a bit of a help anyway I was really in the mood. Besides, I have been out Friday, Saturday and Sunday each one being a good work out, maybe I deserved a day off. But I’ll definitely be out tonight, I can’t miss too many sessions otherwise I’ll ruin all the good work I’ve put in.
