  • Soon Be That Time

It will soon be time for our meeting, people are starting to arrive now, hopefully it won’t go on for too long, because I need to leave at 15:30 by the latest. I will explain it too them at the start so it shouldn’t be a problem. Despite not having an holiday left I am off tomorrow, I have to take Caz to the dentist she is having two removed on the advice of the orthodontist , she will then be fitted with a brace for the next 18 months, I am sure she will be happy about.

But she is having general anaesthetic so she has to have someone there to take her home and be around for the following 24 hours. But my boss was quite happy it, there are some good people who work for this company a pity they are not in positions of authority.

  • No Holiday Left

I have just been speaking with HR about any holiday I have left and it seems I have taken one more than I should, however when I first mentioned it she was adamant that I had taken eight days more than I should.  But when we worked it out, we discovered that I was only one day over my allotment. Which is obviously better that 8 days she first said but worse than the two days holiday I thought I had left, I was counting October, but because I am leaving in the middle of October it doesn’t count, only full months are taken into consideration.

Oh well, only 3 weeks and two days to go, I will soon be counting the minutes.

  • Shop Around

While walking to this office I pass Evans Cycles, and if am to use my bike off road, I have been advised to carry a puncture repair kit, a bike pump and a couple of spanners. So I popped into to the Cycle shop and bought a bike pump and puncture repair outfit for what seemed a reasonable amount, I had compared prices from Evans and Halfords and they seemed to be about the same.

However the tools were a different matter, both stores had tools for sale that I thought was a little over the top. A set of hexagon keys were £8.99, now being an engineer I have a little understand of the cost of tools, and knew that I could get a cheaper set else where.

Well next door but one to the Cycle shop was a hardware shop, so I walked in and, behold a set of hexagonal keys were on sale for the very reasonable amount of £3.95 a saving of five quid, I also picked up a couple of adjustable spanners, saving ne nearly 10 pounds in all, not bad for a 15 yard walk. It pays to shop around after all!

  • Need to Dry Out

I have arrived at our London project office close to Blackfriars station, the train journey was fine but I got soaked for the second time today. The walk to the station was fine and my umbrella kept me dry, however while shaking the water of the umbrella it fell part and I was left just holding the handle while the rest of the umbrella was laying on the station platform.

Which wasn’t a problem because when I got off the train at Fenchurch it was dry, regrettably it didn’t stay that way and after a twenty minutes or so the heavens opened and it looked like monsoon season once again. Needless to say when I told Rosemary all she could do was burst in fits of laughter which made me feel even better, lol.

I don’t have a lot to now but for the start of the meeting, oh and dry out of course.

  • Have a Nice Day

Right I suppose I better be making a move; still a few things I need to do before I disappear out of the door, like put a shirt and tie for starters. Check my bag and get my lunch out of the fridge, catch you all later and as the Yanks say ‘Have a Nice Day’

  • Thoughtful Hubby

I have just emptied the washing machine, because of the inclement weather this morning during my bike, my clothes were a little dirty from the water on the road and they were definitely a little damp, so I chucked them in the washing along with other dirty clothes from washing basket and put them on a quick wash, which is now complete, problem now is how to dry them, I was reluctant to use the tumble drier, so I have put them on the clothes horse (are they still called that).

Rosemary will happy, what a thoughtful hubby I am, lol.

  • Its Raining

Its raining again out there, so don’t forget your umbrella’s, I have already put mine on top of my bag ready to go!

  • Monsoon Rain

Good morning friends, and welcome to Wednesday. Its all down hill from here and it will soon be the weekend once again. This, my first post of the day still finds at home, once again I have a meeting in London and I don’t need to be there until later.

So I took the opportunity to go out on my bike once more, another 13.5 miles in the dark, but it was peaceful and quiet, the only problem was that it poured down, after only a mile it began to drizzle, within a matter of minutes it was of monsoon proportions. Fortunately it only lasted and 10 minutes and then it dried up, so by the time I arrived home I was still a little damp but I didn’t look the monster from the black lagoon.
