  • The Chores are Finished

The cleaning is done and the ironing is finished, yippee. Now it time to relax put my feet up and chill out. I didn’t get the chance last weekend to do any ironing therefore I had 10 work shirts to iron plus the rest of mine and Caz’s clothes and we all know what teenage girls are like, two bloody sets of clothes a day.

It was warm work but I can now forget about ironing until next week. I’ve always done my own ironing its throw back to my army days. Even when I got married my ex wife never did my ironing, so if I got picked up on an inspection it was always my fault and I couldn’t blame anybody else.

We are now going to watch a DVD, Tom Hanks in Philadelphia, I haven’t seen it for ages and Rosemary picked it up for a £5.00 in HMV.

  • Domestic Chores

Right I have done the shopping and I have been out on bike for a couple of hours, its now time to get on the domestic chores, clean, the flat, do the washing and I have the ironing to do of course. A man’s works is never done; you women have it easy I think. I am at work all week and still have the chores to do at the weekend, which of course includes driving to Leicester. Ok, I do have some help, but am trying to make a point here, but for the life of me I can’t think what it is.

I’ll stop now before I get myself into trouble lol, only joking ladies see you later.

  • Leicester University

Our trip to Leicester University went off ok, but I don’t think it will be Caz’s first choice. I have to admit I was a little disappointed with it. The campus was ok and so was the accommodation. But the thing that disappointed me was the organisation, we were to attend the history talk at 11:30am in one of the lecture theatres, but it was cancelled and moved to 12:30pm, but we like many others had booked other events to attend, so we had to do a quick re-evaluation and change times and places that we had booked in advance.

There was no apology or explanation, there was also no history stand to visit like there was at our other universities that we have visited, so we didn’t get the chance to speak with any of the staff. But when we did mange to attend the history talk the course content was okay. But what concerned me was, if they are unable to organise an open properly what does it say about the university as a whole.

  • Shopping As Well

I have just returned from a quick shopping trip into town. Because I am a man when I did the shopping I managed to omit a few items, so this morning I had to go and get them, so on top of my 18 mile bike ride I have also had to a do a few miles walking. Thankfully I only had to go to a few shops, the unfortunate thing was that they are on opposite ends if the high street.

Perhaps I should leave the shopping to Rosemary in future, I doubt that she would forget anything, and if she did it would probably be that she meant too, or we didn’t really need it.

  • Off Road Biking

Good morning people and welcome to Sunday the day of rest and what a beautiful day it is. It’s a glorious day out there, believe me I have just got back after a great two hour bike ride which covered the area where the 2012 Olympic mountain biking will take place and after today’s ride it should be a great setting.

I have a few scrapes and bumps but it was great to get off road and feel the adrenaline rush caused by excitement and a little danger. It was not really very dangerous but a fall while negotiating a steep slope at speed could lead to a painful injury, fortunately I managed to stay on the bike. The route in total is a little over 18miles, 10 miles of which is on road or cycle paths the other 8 miles is purely across country. I really enjoyed it, but will have to wait another week before I can repeat the feat.

I did stop and have a quick chat with another rider who was coming in the opposite direction, and he did have some advice for me, the main point is that I should always take a few tools, a puncture repair kit and a bike pump. He did say that punctures are common going across country and it much easier to repair the puncture than push your bike home 8 miles, which I kind of agree with.
