  • Mail Today

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - A Scottish postman working in Germany hoarded at least 20,000 letters at home because he felt his work was too taxing, police said on Tuesday.

The postman in Frankfurt was caught when a neighbour saw him tipping a mail delivery into a rubbish bin and alerted police. "It's worth mentioning the 23-year-old didn't deliver mail addressed to himself either," local police said in a statement.

Investigating officers found rubbish bags and boxes full of letters and other post stashed around the man's flat and cellar. He told police he had got behind with deliveries because of his night school studies and felt too "overtaxed" to catch up.

Police said at a conservative estimate, the hoard, which the man had built up since August 2007, comprised at least 20,000 letters. Two vans were needed to remove it.

  • Am Livid

Am not an happy bunny, I have just been told that my meeting in central London tomorrow has been cancelled, and has been moved to this afternoon, that means I will have to leave, drive home and drop the car off, and then take the train into London. Had been told yesterday, I would have gone directly to the office in London this morning and worked from there until the meeting this afternoon.

I was feeling good until about ten minutes ago when I was told of the new date and time for the meeting, now I’m just livid. I think that’s the straw that broke the camel back, I am definitely leaving now!

  • Rabbit

Just to clarify a small point a number of people have questioned why my username is 359Rabbit. Well when I first joined I wanted to just use the name Rabbit but that unfortunately was already taken, so it gave me a number of options but i9 then put 359 in front of the name rabbit because that was the last 3 figures of my army number.

The name Rabbit, well one morning just after meeting my wife I was lounging around in her flat without a care in the world, she said to me aren’t you going to be late for work. I relied no I have plenty time, and went on to say ‘you won’t catch me running around like headless rabbit’ she burest6 out in fits of laughter and name rabbit, stuck

  • 50 Years Old

Well today I have reached another milestone in my life, besides finding out I have been offered a job I have reached the grand old age of 50.  I was laying in bed this morning this morning waiting for the alarm to off (I always wake up before the alarm goes off) and thoughts were going back to what I did ten years ago.

Well on my 40th birthday I was a Warrant Officer in the army and was based in RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus and I was responsible for the maintenance of all the essential services on the base, electricity, water, fuel, sewage etc.

On my 30th birthday I was a corporal working as an electrical engineer in a military hospital in Aldershot looking after the power supply and the HVAC systems

On my 20th birthday I was an apprentice electrician at the Army Apprentices College in Chepstow.

On my 10th birthday I was still at junior school with little more thought than how my favourite football team was doing and how long it was until playtime.

And ten years before I was taking my first breath of air, seeing daylight for the first time and probably wondering when my first meal was coming and that was in Halifax general hospital.

Strange what you get to thinking about when you are laying in dark on an early morning. That life full life story in 5 short paragraphs not a lot to show for 50 years is it, lol.

  • More Good News

On my way home last I received the news I was waiting for, after the job interview last Thursday the company has finally got back to the recruitment agency and the news is good, they are going to offer me a position. There was a slight problem in that the HR manger quit his job and didn’t pass on any information so it has taken a little time to get back to me.

So I am very happy that I have been offered a position and I will have to wait and see what the package is, but at the interview is stated that the package would be good, just how good we will wait and see.

  • Diet and Exercise

The news is that during last night’s official weigh in with the nurse I managed to lose another two pounds so I am happy with that, the nurse was very pleased. It has been a month since I last saw her and since then I have last 13 pounds. The only thing that was slightly unhappy with I was targeting a weight lose of 3 pounds for the week which would have brought my total weight lose to 2 stone since I started eight weeks ago, still I am very happy with the way its going.

I must say I haven’t really struggled and I actually quite enjoy it, I feel good and coupled with the exercise regime I am feeling fitter and stronger. Only one problem, my trousers are now very loose, I can actually take them off without undoing them (I know too much information). I will have to go through the clothes I put away when I started to put weight on, that will be good I had some nice ones.
