When I first started my exercise regime some eight weeks ago, (17 July), I really struggled it was hard work and I didn’t fully realise how unfit I had become. I had a route to go on bike that was approximately six miles and I couldn’t even mange that without stopping at least twice. When I got halfway I used to stop for about 10minuts to recover my breath. Now even with the route extended for another 3 miles I never stop and I do it faster than I did the 6 miles. Tomorrow I will extend the route once again; it will be just short of 12 miles.

 

I still have a long way to go, before reaching goal, I of course realise that I will never again be as fit as I was in the army, and of course I was younger then. But I am very pleased with the progress I have made so far not only am I fitter and stronger I am losing weight it will be a least another 5 to 6 months before I reach my target but once there the challenge will be not to make the same mistakes by stopping the exercise and putting the weight back on, but I have made a commitment to change my life style and I generally achieve what I set out to do.
