  • Back From the Shops

Well that’s over with, I have just got back from down the town, Caz didn’t go with she couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed. So I was on own, I didn’t get a lot, just some fresh fruit and cleaning materials nothing of interest. We had an Italian market on this morning along side the usual farmers market. Not a lot on offer really so I didn’t bother with anything, but it was quite busy on the high street, however, I am sure it will get worse before the day is over.

  • Spectacular Fire Works Display

There were quiet a few workers on the seafront and it was closed to traffic, which will make the day trippers life hell a little later. Tonight is Southend’s carnival and the council is busy putting a number of stages, it starts at 8, I think and will be followed by a spectacular fire works display (well that’s what the posters say), I not sure about the spectacular bit, but there is a fire works display?

  • Nice Start to the Day

Just this minute got back from my daily exercise, another bike ride down the seafront. Very pleasant it was too, the sun was out and there was a bit of a breeze not as strong as the last couple of day, but it still made riding into a little difficult. I extended the route the route a little more today and I did feel good.

There were quite others out as well, enjoying the early morning sunshine and the peace and quiet before the day trippers arrive, well it is the bank holiday and the sun is shining, it will be a nice day I just hope it stays that way for the next couple of weeks.

  • Under Budget

Boris Johnson London’s mayor of about 4 months has promised the Olympics will cost less than the £9.3 billion budget. Some hope, he obviously doesn’t have a clue a about projects like this. Already the costs for some of the stadiums have risen dramatically, some contractors are already feeling the pinch and we still don’t have final design for many of the venues.

Work has begun and everybody is singing the praises of the Olympic committee (well some are), but for the time being all that is happening is that the ground workers are site digging bloody big holes everywhere, we are still a long way from any steel work going in, mainly because no one a design to work too, but don’t worry we have four years yet!

  • First Day

The first day of the holidays and I’m up at the usual time, but I don’t mind. I have always been an early bird, its just the way I am I suppose.

The swimming yet ok last, well I didn’t drown anyway, not as many people as last week, but it was enjoyable not aching too much, but because I haven’t been swimming like that for years it will take a few sessions to get used to swimming again.

I will be out on bike later, well probably about an hours time, no hurry but I do have to take Caz clothes shopping later, why she does go out with her friends I don’t know they would far more help than me.
