Free Education'
@ 2008-07-13 – 10:52:26
Service personnel are to be given university education free of charge after they end their duty with the armed forces, it has been reported. According to the News of the World, personnel who complete six years' service in the Army, Royal Navy or RAF will qualify for the scheme.
The government will pay tuition fees to study for GCSEs, A-levels, university degrees or other qualifications. The measure is thought to be in Thursday's Armed Forces Command Paper. This document will deal with a whole range of welfare issues affecting soldiers, sailors and airmen.
The MoD have always had pre-release course available for their personal, admittedly some were not very good but some were very good. This will help the infantry and some of the other arms of the service, but many are well trained anyway, the army has always had highly skilled engineers and technicians, they are hundreds of skills that the MoD teach it’s personal but am really glad that they have come with this initiative It will help those who don’t haven’t been taught any skills while serving their country. -
RSBP Visit and Relax
@ 2008-07-13 – 10:41:00
I had a great yesterday at RSPB Rainham Marshes, I spent a good 5 hours there and walked miles. I took over 400 pictures but that number was reduced to 366 once I had gone through them, the number will be reduced even more once I have processed them, quite a few of are repeats as I tend to fire a 3 or even four shots altogether.
I enjoy places like the RSPB sites, while I am not a fully fledged bird watcher (no pun intended), I really taking photographs of wildlife and this sites are great for practicing your photographic skills.
Three other reasons spring to mind for visiting RSBP sites, the first one is the exercise, they tend to have walks that stretch many miles of course they do have shorter routes and you can just sit and watch the wildlife if the many hides that are dotted around.
Which brings us on to the second; you can just sit and watch in peace and quite and forget all your troubles for a short time, you can feel the stress lifting off you even if it is just for a short while. Rainham Marshes is located inside the M25 and not too far from the centre of London, yet it could in the middle of nowhere only the occasional train speeding past tells you where you are.
Thirdly they do a great job in protecting our environment and the animals that live in it. They areas are normally located in areas of natural beauty and they encourage every to get involved. If you love nature and need peace and quiet then they are great place to visit.

Sunday Morning
@ 2008-07-13 – 10:25:35
Yesterday was wonderful, the weather was warm and sunny but a little breezy, the rain forecast by the BBC didn’t materialise, but the fine day was predicted by Rosemary. She is far better than any weather forecaster perhaps she should get a job there.
This morning I had a bit of lay in, thankfully the cat alarm didn’t go off, mainly because I shut the bedroom properly and she couldn’t get in. She did get fed, I wouldn’t be that cruel to withhold her food (she likes it too much), but it wasn’t at 04:45 like yesterday morning it was at a reasonable 09:00. Now like all cats she laying in the sun fast asleep.
