  • Loathing and Hatred in the Church

This is what really annoys me about the church, it is supposed to represent society but it appears they are just bigots. A leading Church of England bishop will boycott the Lambeth Conference in protest at the presence of pro-gay bishops, it has been reported.

According to the Sunday Telegraph, the Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali will decline an invitation to the Anglican Communion summit.
Bishop Nazir-Ali has helped organise the rival Gafcon conference currently being held in Jerusalem.

It’s about time these people faced reality, gay clergy will not go away and why should they, and they have the same rights as everybody else in this world. The clergy be, they Anglican or Catholic have a duty to treat everyone equally, no wonder there is so much hate and violence in the world, our religious leaders set a great example to the world by advocating it by not allowing equal rights to gays. A number of years ago their hatred was against women in the church, if you went back a few hundred years it was against coloureds in the church. What is with religion that it breeds loathing and hatred, and they wonder why congregations are falling?  Is it any wonder, am really glad am atheist?

  • England v New Zealand

The Kiwis did for England yesterday, in a great day of sport for the New Zealanders they stuffed England in the rugby (as always), I can’t remember the last time an England rugby side actually beat the All Blacks, and later in the day the New Zealand cricket team put England to the sword in the One Day series. We might have beaten them in the test series but they have gained some revenge in the One Day series, with two games left to play anyone could win the series.

  • Defrauding the System

A member of the European Parliament for the East has been arrested on suspicion of obtaining money by deception. Tom Wise, 60, from Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire was questioned by police on Friday about an alleged fraud. He was later given bail.

The former policeman who was elected for UKIP had the party whip withdrawn in 2007 and now sits as an independent. Mr Wise, who represents Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, was elected in 2004. He is one of seven MEPs covering the east of England. A spokesperson from Bedfordshire Police told the BBC a man was arrested for obtaining money by deception and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Lets hope this is the start of a clamp down on the freeloaders we call our MP’s be they European Ministers or our own MP’s, for far too long they have got away with defrauding the system and it’s about time that those caught should be charged, and if convicted sent to prison and made to pay every penny back.

  • RSPB - Minsmere

My visit to the RSPB site at Minsmere on Friday was an excellent day out, it surpassed all my expectations. I arrived there at just after 08:00 in the morning it took me about two hours of a leisurely drive to get to Suffolk site and the weather was fantastic.

Warm and sunny in fact at some points it was a little too warm; with a cooling sea breeze once I got into the sheltered areas it was very warm carrying around the equipment I had and I was wearing a tee shirt and combat jacket, (camouflaged to the initiated) by the time I had spent 3 hours walking round the first trail I was soaked with sweat (I know, not a pretty thought). I stopped for lunch and reviewed my first lot of pictures.

After a relatively short break I was again set out on the second trail, this one was mainly a woodland trail but with two hides on the edge of the reed beds, this is where I managed to capture the Marsh Harrier in flight, this was the high light of the day I completed the second trail in about two hours.

The trails are approximately about 3km for the wetland and 2.5km for the woodland, it is not really suitable if you have difficulty walking or you have wheelchair or pushchair. That is not to say that you can not access it’s just that some areas will be quite difficult for you to access, however a number of hides are accessible for wheel chair users. The area is located next to the Sizewell B nuclear power station, but apart from that eyesore the area is located in a beautiful area.

I took over 300 pictures but after down loading them I had to delete about 50 which were out of focus or shots of nothing, when my subject matter decided they didn’t like being photograph and buggered off.  For those living in the south east of England then it a perfect day out, the wildlife is fantastic and the facilities are superb but a good pair of boots are essential and if it rains there is very little shelter some wet weather gear would be needed if the forecast is bad.

  • Euro 2008

Congratulations to Russia who demolished Holland last to reach the semi finals of Euro 2008. Holland was my team in the sweep steak and I had highs hopes for them after they had beaten Italy and France in the group stages. Alas it could not last and in the game last night they were totally outplayed by a far superior Russian side.

  • Upload Successful

Have just managed to upload some of the images I took at Minsmere on Friday, it took me far longer than expected, for some reason I was only able to upload a few at a time.

We have the option of uploading a maximum of 10 pictures at a time. Well, I tried this at it just wouldn’t play, after about 10 minutes the hour glass was still evident and my pictures had not been accepted. When I was able to access my media I found out of the ten I tried to upload only about 3 had been successfully saved in my folders, I tied it once again only to see the same results. I then decided that I should upload only five at a time. This proved successful and the pictures now reside in media.
