Finally we have something that makes our armed forces feel appreciated, for too long we have ignored these people who do a difficult and dangerous job in arduous conditions. Yes, nobody made them sign on and they know that they may be killed or seriously injured but that does not mean that we ignore them.

What is it you're thinking of Rabbit - you don't say!
Tom.
Some organisations and people treat members of our armed like second class citizens, some universities and in particular student unions seem to have a particular hatred for them.
We seem to have gone back to the 60’s, with there socialist views, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are wrong, however, we have soldiers out there fighting we must support them and not condemn them for the failing of Government policy.
The public should be grateful for the sacrifice that I, and every other service member past or present, willingly offer. Showing disdain for us only cheapens the liberties that you enjoy. Liberties you would not have without us.
It Is The Soldier
It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
