  • Zimbabwe

Surely, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's must know that his time is now over. He has ruined his country, 28 years he has been in power, inflation is out of control and the country is in debt up to it eyeballs. Why doesn’t he and his Government just quit or hasn’t he the balls to do what is right.

Since he took the farming land from the white settlers and gave it to his friends, family and supporters their country has been a slide into oblivion. It was once a beautiful and prosperous country now from what we can see on the news it’s just a slum.

Yes there was discrimination before he came to power and the blacks were treated as second and third class citizens, but they must have been better off then they are now.

I suppose that one of the reasons he and his supporters don’t do the right thing, is that they afraid of the repercussions, they have been corrupt and have shown nothing but contempt for the people of Zimbabwe.

  • Charlton Heston

Charlton Heston died yesterday, the star who made over 70 films was 84, he portrayed Michelangelo, El Cid, Moses and many others. His wife Linda whom he married in 1944 was at his side when he died.

In 1952, after working on Broadway, Heston starred as the ringmaster in the movie The Greatest Show on Earth. Four years later, he appeared as Moses in The Ten Commandments, one of the roles which would define his career.
After the success of the science fiction film Planet of the Apes in the late 1960s, Heston turned his attention to working in the theatre.

Although later identified with traditionally conservative causes, Charlton Heston had been a vocal supporter of Martin Luther King and the 1960s Civil Rights movement. He also served as president of the Screen Actors Guild and was chairman of the American Film Institute.

“In his own words, 'I have lived such a wonderful life. I've lived enough for two people'."

  • Snow in April

I had a little lay in this morning, which I might say is very unusual. Now I am up and sat in front of the computer, I can see can out of the living room window, It reminds of Winter, certainly not of April, we have a heavy snow falling at the moment. Don’t you just love the British weather?

I suppose we should be grateful at least the weather forecasters got it right for a change, usually they are way off, but today they got it spot on.
