The mother of Shannon Matthews will go on trial alongside Michael Donovan, who is charged with Shannon's kidnapping and false imprisonment.

Karen Matthews, 32, of Dewsbury, Yorks, appeared at Leeds Crown Court via video link to face charges of child neglect and perverting the course of justice.
The second charge states she "repeatedly concealed information" in relation to Shannon's whereabouts.

Ms Matthews was remanded back into custody to go on trial on 11 November.

A terrible, mother and parent just trying to con the world using her daughter as the inveigle (for a better), how did she think she would get away with it?

Is it me or does this site seem very slow today, it seems to hanging a lot when trying to access post. I suppose it could be my computer but it seems to working ok on other sites.

Doesn’t seem a lot happening today, I just can’t seem to get motivated. I was in early as usual and managed to print of a couple of documents (another rain forest destroyed). I have added a few comments to drawing and that’s as far as I have got. I have to review the document I printed off (all 392 pages of it) so that should take me a couple of day.

I do like to read but I prefer Terry Pratchett, or Tom Clancey, reading the Electrical Technical Specification for a project, is not my idea of fun. However, it is a necessary part of my job.

Am looking out of the window has the bosses transport as just arrived, a nice medium sized helicopter, he must be going out to visit a site. Oh well I suppose I better on.
