I was a little disappointed with myself yesterday, I failed to post anything or even get on this site. It all started on Thursday evening, Caz, was on the computer when the monitor started flickering then suddenly it just went black. The computer was still running but nothing on the screen. Now being an electrical engineer, I carried out the checks and to my disgust discovered that the screen was totally and utterly buggered, and its less than a year old.
But no problem for the time being I will change the screen and replace it with the one from the old computer, this I did and everything was going well for about another 30 minutes when the same symptoms were apparent. Caz by this time was having one of her teenage tantrums; you know the ones the Kevin and Perry moments. But there was nothing I could do about it.
Yesterday, the internet connection at work was done, we could use the interanet but we couldn’t access anything outside the company. I finished early yesterday and returned home to sort our PC.I phoned the tech guys as they like to be called and for the next fifty five minutes with my ear to the phone I diligently followed the instructions given to me done the phone. In the end the diagnosis sorry your computer is buggered I will arrange for engineer to visit. Apparently the mother needs to be replaced and that caused the flat screen to fail. But the engineer is coming out on Tuesday.
We are now using my laptop on which I had to load a new version of anti virus software and all the printer software, then I had to renew the internet connection, by that time I was fed up with computers and had a drink instead.
